JUBILANT FATHER His face is like a sun, warms the moon beside him. She´s grown full; tonight begins the waning. The tide pulls through her very bones, her form aches as each wave crests. The earth pulse, heavy, blood warm within her Beats new chords, old sun god chants. "You are the first mother and the last, all spring flesh has traveled through you." Aztec plumed and gold beaded, your priest kneels at the holy alter, gathers each salt pearl shed, nectar for his sacrament. You are the temple, we pilgrims swept through the gates, bent figures know the scent and petals of your presence, spread our arms to harvest blossoms, and your priest, sun struck, kneels beside you.

Birthday Poem

Happy Birthday Mike

© By Blevins

July 12 is his birthday - boyfriend passed away in May of 2006 - first of EVERYTHING without him.

We always spent your birthday up at Hampton Beach.
Then we'd have dinner and watch the stars out of reach.
We'd float in the ocean and dry off in the sun,
it was always time away together second to none.
I went the beach today the way we use to do,
unfortunately it's not the same Hon without you.
As I now put my lounge chair down in the hot sand,
I imagine you with me and holding my hand.
Summer use to be our favorite time of year,
it comes now for me with deep regret and a tear.
It's the first birthday your not here anymore,
I even stopped myself from getting your gifts at the store.
I think back now and compare you to a summer's breeze,
you were always so laid-back, loving and easy to please.
People will have their own way of remembering you today,
some will be sad, some will smile and some will pray.
So as you have your cake looking down on us from above.
I'll light a candle and sing Happy Birthday to you my LOVE.

You'll always be the sunshine of my life!
Love and Miss you.
Liz
