Dark Over The Valley

Stars twinkle in the night Over valley low As sunlight slips over the hills And loses golden glow The moon half full shines to the right Over valley deep Casting off its drowsy spell And putting us to sleep Making bats awake to swoop Over valley dim Swooping soaring through the night And over valley skim Mountains loom above my head Over valley too Making shadows spring to life As only dark can do The whole world sleeps and I do too In my valley home Let the darkness do its worst And let the shadows roam
