Quintessence
© By Priscilla Durandisse
She is like the seasons, Her eyes are bright Like the gleam from the summer sun. The beauty of the earth is defined. By the luminance of her rays, Birds singing their songs in harmony, Butterflies gracefully floating across the sky.
In her autumns, Her laughter causes the trees to sway. Golden leaves begin falling to the ground one by one. Each breath causing a gentle breeze.
Then her winter draws in And a cool gust blows in. A slow icy fog descends And her tears freeze into little cotton balls of snow.
During her spring The flowers called out her name And she gathered them in a warm embrace Her wisdom flowing smoothly from her mouth Like the clouds squeezing droplets from its core. Buds bloom from each drip, drop. Then she smiles an intimate smile like the sun peeking from behind the clouds. Her eyes light up at the beauty she's given birth to. Suddenly, her soul blossomed with a summery grin. Her whole sentiment reflected by each season, Each season making her whole.
