Dreams
© By Buck W. Martin
It happens to all of us, some more than others. It can happen to parents, sisters, and even baby brothers.
Some of them are different, and some are quite the same. Some inspire greatness; some inspire fame.
For me, it's always been different, on this you'll have to agree. But ever since my childhood, I've had dreams of you and me.
While others dream of riches, or even silver or gold, I had dreams of a woman whose name I'd never been told.
I'd lie awake for hours, while others were asleep. There would be no more loneliness; you'd make my life complete.
I'd dream of days together, and holding you through the night. I'd be with you forever, and try to do everything right.
I knew you were out there somewhere, I'd have to bide my time. I'd wait for you forever; I knew I'd be just fine.
Now that I've become a man, my course has been tried and true. My hopes and dreams have come to fruition, since the day that I met you!
