Mom my best friend
Mothers Day Oh, mom how could I ever forget you! You were so beautiful, with the biggest green eyes I ever did see and skin like peaches and cream. You were everyone’s dream! I'll never forget your scent as you walked by, Evening In Paris was just made for you. When you hugged ..........

My Mother
My mother has a wonderful soul, As all the world can see. But I especially love the times we spend, When its just her and me. When we are alone together, I feel a strong connection. That only a mother and child can feel, After years of mutual affection. It sometimes ..........

Mother's Day You Are…
You are the sweet angel that watches over me, You are the sunshine that glitters over the sea. You are the colors that shine after the rain, You are the band-aid to heal all of my pain. You are the winter's snow that makes nature look bright, You are the moon's rays and a cool, crisp ..........

Mother's Day
AS I LOOK IN THE MIRROR As I look in the mirror What do I see, The face of my mother Looking back at me. My hairs turning grey, My wrinkles are showing My aches and pains Just keep on growing My mother worked hard raising her nine We were good kids---most of the time Had to pump water ..........

Happy Mother's Day
You lead by example for your children to see! Once again I am proud; Happy Mother's Day from me! You deserve this special day for the job that you have done And you are clearly number one! In these fast paced times where there are so many distractions, You have been the perfect mom ..........

A Poem About an Ill-Fated Turkey
The baby turkey loved to eat, Every kernel at his feet. He grew to be so fat, As big as a bobcat. The growing turkey waddled proud. His gobble sounded loud. Other turkeys became afraid, Opting to hide in the shade, While turkey ate for a crowd. The now bigger turkey continued to ..........

The Christmas Holliday
Christmas is a time for gladness, With eggnog filling lots of glasses. The Christmas spirit you can see For presents 're under the Christmas tree. With all the stockings over flowing, The fireplace is brightly glowing. The hot chocolates steamin', the marshmallows 're meltin', And the ..........

The Gift of Happiness
Christmas is the time for giving, Giving thoughtful gifts, The kinds that make children smile— The ones on their wish lists. But, dear Santa, I just want one gift this year, And it's the gift of happiness, Because you see, Unlike toys and jewelry, Happiness can last a lifetime. ..........

Use Poetry to share your feelings about the Holidays!

Holiday poems are filled with treasured memories with family and friendsFunny poetry can be found in them too, and love stories unfold through holidays where lovers, family, and friends gather together for the common cause of enjoying a cultural or religious event.  Love poems often talk about holidays spent between lovers and holiday poems offer a laugh or a soft memory of our closest that we love.  But the best way to look at life is with this holiday quote. “Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make everyday a holiday and celebrate just living!”

Holidays are to be cherished with family and friends.  Holiday poems are ways to share with those we care for can appreciate what we have in them as family and friends during the holidays.  Family poems often are holiday based themed and friendship poems can embark on past stories on holidays spent with each other.  The holidays bring lovers together.  Holidays are a time of joy and togetherness and can be expressed through holiday poems.

Holidays can often be a stressful time as well.  There are holiday poems that vent one’s frustrations about family and friends or unfortunately lack there of and many are only greeted by loneliness during the holidays and memories of lost love ones and depression seeks in.  Holiday poems spread across a broad range of means and themes and make for a unique form of poetry.

Family Poem of the Day

JUBILANT FATHER

His face is like a sun, warms the moon beside him.
She´s grown full; tonight begins the waning.
The tide pulls through her very bones,
her form aches as each wave crests.

The earth pulse, heavy, blood warm within her
Beats new chords, old sun god chants.
"You are the first mother and the last,
all spring flesh has traveled through you."

Aztec plumed and gold beaded,
your priest kneels at the holy alter,
gathers each salt pearl shed, nectar for his sacrament.

You are the temple,
we pilgrims swept through the gates,
bent figures know the scent and petals of your presence,
spread our arms to harvest blossoms,
and your priest, sun struck, kneels beside you.
