JUBILANT FATHER His face is like a sun, warms the moon beside him. She´s grown full; tonight begins the waning. The tide pulls through her very bones, her form aches as each wave crests. The earth pulse, heavy, blood warm within her Beats new chords, old sun god chants. "You are the first mother and the last, all spring flesh has traveled through you." Aztec plumed and gold beaded, your priest kneels at the holy alter, gathers each salt pearl shed, nectar for his sacrament. You are the temple, we pilgrims swept through the gates, bent figures know the scent and petals of your presence, spread our arms to harvest blossoms, and your priest, sun struck, kneels beside you.

Family Poems: 41-50 of 54

“I don’t care how poor a man is;  if he has family, he’s rich.”  This family quote realizes how precious family is.  Family poems express everything about who we are due to the influence of our families in our lives.  Family is the ground works of what has made us who we are.  Family plays a big role in our personality, ethics, and social networking and is obvious in family poetry.  Many times inspiration can be found in family stories told through family poems.

Family is a pivotal part of everyone’s life and is proven in family poems.  The family quote by Benjamin Disraeli reaffirms family’s importance with this:  “No success in public life can compensate for failure in the home.”  Families grow and move through life and often holiday poems sharing memories of one’s family during holidays.  Family values are important and often shown in poetry.  Family offers hope for real security in a stressful world.

The global family is equally important as implied in Sara Paddinson’s family quote, “We are one big family of people, trying to make our way through the unfolding puzzle of life.  We are all connected to one another in the heart.”  Family poems can be expanded to friendship poems and love poems and go beyond anymore one has an affinity to another.

Family poems preserve family memories and share stories of a lost loved one in the family.  Many times death poems will speak of how the family cope with a resent loss and family proves central to helping with the recovery of many tragedy that happen in one’s life.
